Due to the vicious digestional bug that's wreaked havoc in Nolan's body since Monday, the Anderson kid swap and Thursday work were out of the question this week. We're hoping his illness isn't actually a milk allergy, as he just topped off his first half gallon of whole milk earlier this week, some of which he received at full strength, without the status quo 50/50 breast milk dilution. In addition to diarrhea, Tuesday night he began projectile vomiting. I opted to stay home this week, which provided me with the opportunity on Wednesday and today to move his things into the room previously occupied by Collin and Aaron.
Nolan appears very happy with his new digs. Wednesday evening, during our nightly bedtime ritual, which involves cuddling into my lap to read board books in the rocking chair, Nolan turned to look directly into my eyes to get my attention. Lately, he's been in the habit of grabbing my face with his little hands and aligning my eyes to his before attempting to communicate his desires. He smiled and began enthusiastically pointing to the fruit on the wall in front of him, before turning his head to admire the butterfly on the wall above his changing table. He either hasn't noticed the Very Hungry Caterpillar paintings on the wall before now...or this is his way of telling us he is grateful this space is now his own.
Slowly, but surely, we're getting our house back.

Hurray for Nolan! It is such a magical little room with the painted mural - I am happy that he will be able to share these memories with his two brothers. Miss you Beth!
