Our move from St. Andrew's preschool in Eden Prairie to St. Stephen's preschool in Bloomington was one of the most positive things that has ever happened to our schedule. Not only was it way more convenient, but the director, the staff, and the program are all exceptional. I am grateful Aaron and Nolan have this educational opportunity.
Tuesday night, the kids performed all the Bible verses and songs they had learned during chapel time this Spring. Both the rehearsal late Monday morning and the actual concert were absolutely amazing. Some highlights follow:
and the forest and the trees,
God made the mountains up so high,
above it all, He placed the sky.
God's fingerprints are everywhere,
just to show how much he cares,
and through it all, He had lots of fun,
He made the hippo, who weighed a ton!
"HIP, HIP, HIPPO-POT-A-MUS,
hip, hip hurray, God made all of us!"
"Inch by inch,
and row by row,
'gonna make this garden grow,
all we need is a rake and a hoe,
and a piece of fertile ground.
Inch by inch,
and row by row,
God bless these seeds I sow,
please warm them from below,
'till the rain comes tumbling down."
"First a little drop of rain hits the ground,
then another drop of rain hits the ground..."
"Ohhhh...
I had a silly chicken, and she wouldn't lay an egg,
so I poured hot water up and down her leg,
then she wiggled, and she wiggled, and she wiggled all the day,
and my poor little chicken laid a hard boiled egg!"
"Have you ever gone fishing on a bright and sunny day
with all the little fishies swimming up and down the bay?
With your hands in your pockets, and your pockets in your pants,
and all the fishies do the hoochie, koochie dance."
"I have a cow down on the farm,
Moo, Moo...Moo, Moo,
She gives milk without alarm,
Moo, Moo, Moo, Moo.
One day she drank from a frozen stream,
Moo, Moo...Moo, Moo,
And ever since then, she's been giving ice cream,
Moo, Moo, Moo, Moo!"
And, finally, my personal favorite:
"In the rain forest where the monkeys play,
the baby monkey cries, "I want my way!"
The Momma monkey says, "There's no need to SHOUT!"
"Just sit right down and work it out."
If you've got a problem, you can work it out,
If you've got a problem, you can work it out,
There's no need to cry, there's no need to SHOUT,
Just sit right down and work it out."
