Hike and Heritage Park

Uncle Bob was pretty popular on Saturday after the boys realized he didn't have to go to work. They begged to go with him on his run, so after breakfast, he took them out for a run around the block before we left for our hike.

Stream crossing

We ended the day at Heritage Park, where Laura and Bob treated the boys to numerous amusement park rides, including the Scrambler...twice, the Space Shuttle [where Collin, perched in the last seat by himself, began clutching the railing mid-ride shouting "STOP!"..."STOP", trying to capture the attention of the attendant], the log roll, the Tilt-A-Whirl, and a roller coaster.

On October 18, Laura sends an itinerary to Adam that includes the following:
"-Heritage Square on Saturday (mini theme park with the Alpine slide I referenced while chatting with the boys...looked into and they will all be able to ride; either alone or with adult): really close to our place."
Adam responds:
"Throwing it out there early that I probably won’t be sending the boys down a concrete tube on a little sled with wheels and hoping for the best."
Laura responds:
"Okay, you don't HAVE to send your kids sledding down a concrete tube; just wait and see it before you decide. ;)"...

We ALL brave the alpine slide! The attendants at the top assured us that the scariest part of the ride was already over...the ride up the hill on the chair lift?

The python roller coaster

We said our farewells this morning, after a frantic search for the rental car keys. The gate attendant was gracious enough to let us on the plane, since they had already closed the gateway doors by the time we finally made it through security.

We promised Laura that it wouldn't be another 6 years before our next visit!
