Ever since an anonymous someone, whose identity was later disclosed as Matt Anderson via a text to Adam, dropped 3 beautiful pumpkins on our sidewalk on Monday, October 17 while Aaron, Nolan and I went to pick Collin up from chess club, the boys have been chomping at the bit to carve them. I was able to hold them off until this afternoon, our first day of
MEA break. Each boy selected their favorite design from the Monsters, Inc. Halloween carving book Nolan and I picked up while running errands at Target earlier this fall, and we got to work cutting lids, scooping guts, and collecting pumpkin seeds for roasting.
We then, carefully, poked holes through the templates with the accompanying tools to transfer the design from the paper to the pumpkin.
Nolan carved Randall
Boggs, a monster that Boo is very afraid of, who possesses the ability to change the color of his skin.
Collin carved Roz, leader of the Child Detection Agency, who was working undercover as the Monsters Inc. bookkeeper.
Aaron carved Mike
Wazowski,
Sulley's Cyclops wisecracking best friend, a short, green monster with one large eye.
We completed our project and packed the car for our next adventure, a flight to Denver to visit Auntie Laura and Uncle Bob in Lakewood, CO.
