Mom, me, Aunt Deb, Teresa, and Ruth at the Country Inn and Suites, solving social issues while enjoying our complimentary breakfast.The inception of our now annual Albertville Girl's Columbus Day Weekend Shopping Extravaganza was Teresa's comment during the Krause Easter celebration at the farm on April 24. She ran with the idea, confirming with us that we were keeping the weekend available and booking the Country Inn and Suites adjacent to the south end of the outlet mecca. Adam encouraged me to shop aggressively, warning me that upon my return he was going to pitch anything in my closet with either a hole or a stain, which, embarrassingly eliminated over 50% of my wardrobe. I arrived at Albertville around 11:30 and met up with Ruth, after attending Saturday morning yoga with Neille at 9:00. We shopped on and off all day, taking breaks for lunch and drinks and appetizers, before closing down the mall at 9:00PM. We were back to the mall for more fun after breakfast at the hotel. By the time the South Dakota crew departed, the back of Teresa's vehicle was overflowing with shopping bags, and my trunk was full of "deals".
Meanwhile, Ed arrived early on Saturday morning to pick up Adam and the boys for "Boys Weekend." With the help of Jordan, Adam arranged for a babysitter to watch the boys in the bubble while he and Ed participated in the annual GAC Tennis Gala.
The following is from an e-mail from Adam to Noel Stout on 10/10/2011:
"The Beduhn Duo continues to dominate the Gala winning/tying 5 out of 6 matches. That said, we must be getting old, or slow, or both, since we took fourth, meaning other teams were winning 5 or 6 games per round and we were winning 3 or 4. Ed, a former football player at West Point, continues to dominate the net looking more like he was a former football player than a tennis player, but still getting it done. Adam continues to be one-dimensional and is only happy hitting returns."
After the Gala, the boys went down to the Wabasha property, to cut trees, stack wood, enjoy pizza and a game of bowling at the Wabasha bowling alley, hike the hill, post some "no trespassing signage", pick apples at the orchard for breakfast, and retrieve the deer camera.
