After Collin got home from school, we gathered our pumpkin carving supplies and went to work transforming the pie pumpkins selected from the bin at CUB into holiday Jack-O-Lanterns. I helped Collin with the lid, and then he was on his own to remove the guts, design, and execute the desired face using the "not so kid friendly" carving tools.
Aaron and Nolan required a little more assistance, even though Aaron repeatedly insisted he was also capable of using aforementioned tools. I'm just grateful no one sawed off a finger.
By Friday, the squirrels had hidden the lids and enjoyed large chucks of our pumpkins for dinner, reducing our striking geometric artwork to garbage.
