Halloween

Our general ambivalence for Halloween has unintentionally put a damper on past holiday celebrations...not to mention the drama of Aaron's hospitalization for pneumonia last Halloween. This year we made a concerted effort to embrace the holiday, celebrating on multiple occasions with friends.

October 20, 2010: Adam surprises the boys with costumes for the upcoming Halloween festivities, which include classroom parties for Aaron on October 27 and for Collin on October 29. Collin is very excited about his Iron Man costume. Aaron's so ho hum about his Dash Incredibles costume that we decide to return it. He instead opted to wear the lion costume he found hanging in Nolan's closet.
October 22, 2010: During a play date with the Volpes we learn from Peyton that the party Collin was invited to is actually a costume party for all of us. In a frenzy that resembled our last minute costume scramble for Rob and Colette's grooms dinner at W. A. Frost in 2000, Adam runs to Walgreens and purchases a hobo mask for himself and a witch's hat for me. We are by no means the best dressed, but then again, we're not dressed as a pirate's prostitute (Braxton's grandma) or an army 'ho (Braxton's mom) for Braxton's 6th Birthday party. And people wonder why I have a general disdain for this holiday?!
October 30, 2010: We drive down to St. Peter for Braxon Dale's 5th Birthday Party, aka, a Halloween carnival at Sohre Hall at Gustavus.

October 31, 2010: We invite ourselves to Eden Prairie to partake in Halloween festivities suburbia style with the Matt and Molly Anderson crew. The weather was beautiful, and the kids were pumped, raking in record amount of candy and trinkets. From left to right, back: Lion Aaron, Caterpillar Kate, Dinosaur Nolan, Transformer James, front: Transformer Henry and Iron Man Collin.
the Beduhns...with Adam and I dressing as Matt (coincidentally, the same costumes we wore to Rob and Colette's groom's dinner 10 years ago, only I sported the doves while Adam wore the gold leisure suit for that event).
WhoHoo...this is so fun!
the Andersons...
After making the rounds in EP, we had obligatory neighborhood stops to make in Bloomington before retiring the costumes for 2010. The boys posed for the following pictures at the Deerings.
