Creative Exchange

We’re a family of gamers. Recently we’ve been playing various board games after dinner, before beginning the nightly bedtime routine. With Nolan trapped in the Exersaucer, we are free to play games with smaller pieces.

The boys have taken a recent interest in Monopoly Junior, which is very similar to regular Monopoly, except participants cruise around the board with various amusement park trinkets, buying ticket booths costing between 1-5 bucks.

Collin’s developed a means of creative exchange that allows him to experience joy...even while separating with his money. He consistently gives more money to the bank than is required in order to receive change. This apparently makes transactions more palatable…even though, at the end of the day, there is no money saved…only the impression that he gets something in return.
