Lynne

On Saturday morning, November 8, 2008, my friend and co-worker, Lynne Dorr and I were scheduled to present a beginner HLA training titled “Everything You Wanted to Know About HLA but Were Afraid To Ask” at 8:00 am. It was uncharacteristic for Lynne to be late, but shortly before our presentation was scheduled to begin she still had not arrived. As the doors were closed on our session and I began presenting Lynne’s slides, my emotions oscillated between panic and dread. It wasn’t until much later that we learned our worst fears had been realized; Lynne had been in a paralyzing car accident on her way to the Council Meeting and was fighting for her life in the ICU of HCMC.

Lynne was definitely at the forefront of our consciousness as we attended this year’s Council Meeting, which will forever unintendedly commemorate her accident. A local newspaper featured her in a recent news article:
