August 1, 2010-Day 2
Arrive at 225 Alturus Drive a little before noon. Surprise cameo appearance by Debbie (Hopp) Newstadt, who we haven't seen since Heather and Jordan's wedding in May of 2001. We still look the same (at least we all think so!)
Heather and Deebs
Collin reads one of his four superhero books (courtesy of Hennepin County Public Libraries) to Carter and Braxon.2:00 pm- Following lunch we decide to relax in the Dale's backyard. Beth begins generous sunscreen application of boys due to the elevation adjustment to ~5,000 feet, culminating in mime-esk sunscreen application to her own face that results in Heather wetting her pants...it's officially like old times.
Water fight!...which was followed by a rousing game of batter, batter baseball with Joe, never swings at the first pitch, Mauer 5.0 (ie. Collin), Joe Mauer 4.0 (ie. Braxon) and Joe Mauer 3.0 (ie. Aaron).4:45 pm- Mandatory stop at Albertsons for diapers. While Adam is in grocery store, Aaron unbuckles himself from booster, opens car door, and proceeds to run across parking lot to climb neighboring Mt. Carbonite. When stopped he moans, "I knew you weren't going to let me climb a mountain!"
5:00 pm- Attempt happy hour at the Wicked Spud, but locale has been taken over by bikers. We instead spend some quality time at the Hailey park playing jail break.
Jail BREAK!!!
Sometime late in the evening, we crown Heather the Queen of Catan. Beth so exhausted she is falling asleep at table.
