Visitors

My friend Judy Bloom-Martinez visited today. She started at the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) 2 weeks after I did almost 6 years ago on April 7, 2003. We were in the same training group in the Search and Transplant Department and were fast friends. She is a grandma to Fin, who was born on September 4, 2008 and resides in Bemidji.

She arrived around 11:30, so we had lunch at the house and then decided on a walk outside since the weather was gorgeous. The temp hovered in the 60's all day, so even little Nolan was in the Baby Bjorn without a hat (I may regret that move later). He was also in the Bjorn for almost 5 straight hours (aside from two exits for nursing)...so he was in heaven. Nolan prefers to be an appendage at this point. I'm sure he'll eventually assert some independence...right now his is NOT INTERESTED!

Collin has been riding his bicycle between 2 and 3 miles around the neighborhood on our daily walks with his "Major Damage" red bicycle with training wheels and "Thomas the Train" helmet. Aaron is confined to the jogging stroller, which is challenging for his 2-year old "me do it" spirit. He decided today he would bring a red pail...and the walk turned into a stick, rock, pine cone collecting nature adventure. He was often jogging...yelling at Collin, "STOP Dollin!!" He got a little tired near the end, but refused to get back into the stroller once he was out. He jogged the last leg of the trip...just to see if he could, I think. Both Collin and Aaron have a lot of energy.

There have been many people who have come to welcome Nolan...bearing well wishes and love...and in some cases gifts and food...
