As the airplane zoomed around the backyard with Collin and Aaron traveling to far off places, I thought of Grandma Lavonna. She always said kids can have just as much...or maybe even more fun with simple cardboard boxes than with new toys. It's no surprise to me that she was right.

Simple Things
Saturday morning during Nolan's nap time, we replaced the florescent light with the cracked plastic globe above our kitchen stove. Collin was immediately drawn to the discarded cardboard box that protected the new light. He asked for his scissors and with Adam's assistance, the box was transformed into a magnificent airplane, with seats for both a pilot and a co-pilot.

As the airplane zoomed around the backyard with Collin and Aaron traveling to far off places, I thought of Grandma Lavonna. She always said kids can have just as much...or maybe even more fun with simple cardboard boxes than with new toys. It's no surprise to me that she was right.
