Tonight our woman's group met at Stephano's in Burnsville to celebrate Beth's birthday. We have been meeting since 8/27/2002...supporting each other through marriage, divorce, career changes, first babies, second babies...third babies, child rearing, family tragedies, new homes, personal crises, triumphs...and countless other life events. Our core, Beth, Kim, Ange and I, has expanded at times to include Ellen, Lori and most recently Daphne, who, by some small world coincidence, is the granddaughter of a long time Clear Lake, SD resident, Edna Ingalls, and also the cousin of Ellen's good Klein Ranch friend, Gina.
We've attempted on countless occasions through the years to complete Bible studies, read books, provide accountability...often with little success. However, one thing has remained constant...we've always made time to actively listen to each other's concerns...sharing the load of heavy burdens...and mindfully lifting each other up in thought and prayer. We meet because we need each other...and the meaningful companionship of women.
