Pain Tolerance

I'm encouraged that it appears Collin has inherited my tolerance for pain. This morning he had his cavity filled by Dr. Olson (which also happens to be the name of my childhood dentist) without any anesthetic. While the drill, intelligently dubbed the "whirler", and some other device they called a "road bumper" did their magic on Collin's cavity, Aaron sat on my lap in the corner on the floor, the two of us providing emotional support. The whole thing was over in a matter of minutes. In retrospect, maybe it went too well, as this visit didn't seem to provide any incentive to encourage enhanced brushing techniques.

Since Aaron is also covered by our new and "improved" HRA insurance plan of 2009, we decided to see if he had any surprises in his mouth. Looks like he may have inherited a luckier combination of genetics, as he's by far a less diligent brusher than Collin, but managed to escape the dentist's office with no cavities.
