First Days

In addition to the extra set of clothes, completed homework assignment from orientation, and St. Andrew’s coloring book, Collin decided to pack his Easter Bunny from BaPa and Grandma EIO in his Life Time Fitness backpack, “Just in case I need someone to snuggle with if we take naps.”

The St. Andrew Goodbye Song

I don’t think they had time for naps today, but it appeared that both Collin and Aaron had an enjoyable first day of school. A beautiful monarch butterfly was waiting for us when we returned home. After settling in, we gently carried the hatchery outside, carefully removed the screen lid, and waited for the butterfly to emerge from the jar. She didn’t stay long, immediately taking refuge on a maple leaf, high in the tree. We watched her for a few minutes…sent her our blessings…and went inside for lunch.

Jane and Lily, who graciously shared a caterpillar with us, admire their butterfly before she prepares for flight.
