While “sweeping” the family changing room for the remainder of our belongings, I overheard a hushed conversation between a mom and a dad. Somehow, they had regrettably forgotten swimsuits for their young sons, who were so excited about the pool that they had already begun to remove clothing. Before they broke the disappointing news, I offered to lend them Collin and Aaron’s suits. They reluctantly agreed, not wanting to inconvenience me. I assured them that I understood about the expectations of little people.
I began rummaging through our bag, but, surprisingly, couldn’t find the swimsuits. It was then that I remembered they were still in the spinner.
If I hadn’t offered this family our swimsuits, we would’ve lost them. By offering freely, we, in turn, were blessed. What a nice metaphor for life.
