This morning we returned to the scene of Aaron's library incident...to return books and escape from the unbearable heat in our house.
We were eerily re-creating the same scenario as we had a couple weeks before. After selecting new books and logging Collin into a computer station, Aaron and I sat down on the same couch to read a book while I nursed Nolan.
Before settling in, though, Aaron shuffled through the laundry basket of puppets sitting next to the couch and selected a puppy puppet. He put the puppet on his hand, looked the puppy in the eye, and began barking and biting the armrest that had caused him the pain. After about a minute of this, he put the puppet back in the basket, carefully crawled back up on the couch, and snuggled into my arms to read a story.
Maybe that's all he needed to put this little chapter behind him once and for all.
