Wendy said she hasn't missed a Hill City 4
th of July since she was 10. Adam and I have only missed 2 since we've known each other, the first the summer we were married, when we opted to stay in the Cities and experience Taste of Minnesota, and the second in 2005, to attend the
Neimann family reunion at the park in Clear Lake and Grandpa Orville's 80
th birthday party.
This is the building of traditions...watching the parade and collecting candy, participating in the egg toss and foot races, eating street food, treasure hunting in the sawdust pile, anxiously watching the turtle races, and finally, falling into bed, exhausted, for an afternoon nap.

Nolan, enjoying a view of the parade in the Baby Bjorn.

Collin and Aaron participating in the boys 5 and under foot races. Collin crossed the finish line right before the one year old in a
onesie, and Aaron, upon further reflection, aborted his participation and turned back to be with Daddy.
Adam took second in the men's 18 and older race, winning a silver dollar. You've still got it Daddy!

Collin, searching for treasure in the sawdust pile.
Success!
