Laughing

Ryan and Sarah introduced us to a hybrid telephone/Pictionary game. Each player receives a pencil and a stack of blank pieces of scrap paper, which includes one sheet per game participant. The players think of a phrase and write it on the top sheet of paper. The stack of papers is then passed one person to the right. That person is tasked with drawing the phrase. The stack is again passed one person to the right. That person is tasked with writing down the phrase that corresponds to the drawing, etc, etc, until finally, the originator receives his/her own phrase. The pathway is reviewed, as in the game of telephone, to see how closely the ending phrase resembles the beginning phrase.

Some of the favorite phrases of the weekend included, "Tickle T Touch" (in reference to Laura's sprint triathlon story) which morphed into "Moses parting the Red Sea", "It's on, like Donkey Kong" and "Three-Toed Sloth"...just to name a few.

Together, we laughed...and laughed...and laughed...the way that children do. When did laughter become a novelty? I wonder what made us stop?...and I wonder how much better off we would all be if we could laugh like that every day.

All I know is that it felt good.
