We decided to take Nolan to church this morning. He's 7 weeks old on Monday, so it seemed like time to introduce him to our church family.
We were running late, in classic Beduhn fashion. Our first mistake was to let the boys out of the house before we were ready. In 10.2 seconds, they were in the back yard and sliding down the play set. Unfortunately, it had rained, so Aaron, aka, the sacrificial lamb, needed new pants.
Since Adam was delayed with Aaron, I dropped Collin off at Sunday School and decided to head downstairs to the youth room to introduce my kids to Nolan. Anna and Vinny were leading them in "I Just Wanna Be A Sheep." They were so excited to see us. Nolan immediately relaxed when we entered the room. He seemed to know exactly where we were...he was just positioned a little differently and didn't have a guitar in his face this time.
It felt especially good to be in church today. When we moved to this neighborhood 8 years ago, we intentionally didn't attend Transfiguration Lutheran Church because we didn't want to pick a church out of convenience. After a considerable amount of what can only be called "church shopping", we realized the community we were searching for was in our own backyard.
