Yogis

Meghan stopped by today, bearing homemade bread and her new daughter, Olivia Holmes. Nolan and Olivia have already spent a great deal of time together...by way of their mothers, who work in adjacent cubes and attended prenatal yoga together. They didn't seem to recognize each other, but were very calm in each other's presence.

Meghan was actually the first co-worker who knew I was expecting...but not because I told her. She deduced the knowledge from a yoga instructor named Eleanor at the Core Power studio, who annoyingly would play the Carpenters, "Close to You" in every one of her classes. Eleanor, conveniently let go of my secret when telling Meghan to watch the other mama in the class for modifications. I guess this is a good reminder of why patient privacy is of the utmost importance in a hospital setting...sometimes you just can't know how two people are connected!

Unlike Nolan, who arrived nearly two weeks after his ultrasound due date, Miss Olivia arrived almost three weeks early. Nolan is only 12 days older, but he's literally at least twice her size.

The difference in gestation is noticeable! Nolan is busting out of his 0-3 month clothes (no those are not capris, and yes, he's graduated to the more appropriate 3-6 month sizes). Olivia is just headed out of her preemie clothes, on her way to the newborn sizes.
