We spent more time outside today, hunting for treasures. After doing our morning cat chores, we wandered into the hog shed to see what we could find. Our search was fruitful. We pulled out Uncle Reid's John Deere pedal tractor and the scooters that Great Grandpa Marvin and Great Grandma Darlene gave to Uncle Reid and Auntie Ruthie one Christmas when they were little. They were covered in poo and had flat tires, but the kids trusted me that we really had found something special.
After a little TLC, Collin was pedaling the tractor on the sidewalk and Aaron was trying to ride Ruth's scooter. Everything old is new again. I wonder what other treasure we could uncover in that shed?
This week Aaron has started to tell me, "you hurt my feelings...", in between sobbing. Apparently, he's now able to vocalize his hurt with my restrictions on his 2-year old behavior.
This parenting thing can be really tricky sometimes.
