The Opener

Can someone please tell me why the Minnesota Fishing Opener is scheduled on Mother's Day weekend?

Adam left to go fishing with 'the boys'...while I hang with my boys here at home. We have an impressive schedule planned, in an attempt to defer attention away from Daddy's absence. We spent the entire morning at Southwood Park with Sonya, Keaton, Gavin and Peyton, playing at the playground and hitting plastic baseballs with tennis rackets. After lunch, we broke into our new Operation (ie Tweezer Man) game (another garage sale dollar treasure), followed by a family nap in Collin and Aaron's bed and Neighborhood Night Out at TLC.

Tomorrow, we are headed to Isaac's 4th birthday party at Lake Minnetonka. Then we're driving to St. Cloud, so we can spend Mother's Day with Honey Honey and Ba Pa Minnows. Daddy will join us again on Sunday (well rested and relaxed!)

It's actually nice to spend this time alone with the boys...to put aside the 4 baskets of laundry and list of house chores...and just enjoy their company.

I think they like it, too.
