Adam and I watched "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" this weekend. In it, Benjamin's adoptive mother's mantra is, "you never know what's coming for you."
Adam surprised us by taking the day off of work. While hanging out with the boys at the patio table this morning, Adam silently reflected on the blessings in our life. Collin turned to him and said, "you just never know, Dad." Adam was somewhat surprised by Collin's unprompted reference to the movie...until Collin finished his train of thought...
"You just never know who I'm going to invite to my birthday party!"
Nope...I guess we don't...and we don't know what's coming for us. But if the path ahead of us is even half as beautiful as the path behind us...we will consider ourselves blessed beyond measure.
